Today I called my sister, Missy, to ask her a question and she said: "By the way, I have all my photo shoot equipment up and am planning to take it down today. Do you want to bring Jack over for some pictures before I do?" Yay, I've been feeling so bad lately that I haven't had any professional photos taken of Jack since he was 2 weeks old and he is now 9 months old. So of course we headed over. So Jack was having a bad hair day, no it doens't just happen to girls on important days, but he is still stink'n cute. Don't you think so?

Get ready for a photo blitz. I am making up for lost time

I think that Jack likes this denatal magazine more then I do. He started crawling a little over a month ago and now he is in to everything. I don't know what it is about power cords but he loves them.

Jack loves Tilli. Tilli gets a little annoyed with his affection and walks off a lot.

Jack loves to read books. Last week grandma Kee came up to vistit and she brought some good books for Jack to read

All tuckered out. We went to San Diego last month while I was on my break from school. It was Jacks second time at the beach but first time to touch the ocean water. He loves the ocean. He was getting a little bit cranky because I wouldn't let him crawl around in the water.

We also went up to the Earl Family cabin during my school break. While we were there I heard a noise in the ceiling while I was taking a shower. It turns out it was a mountian deer rat or something like that. I bought one of those break you neck rat traps and then I saw him running around up in the ceiling and didn't have the heart to kill him. Luckily one of Maggi's sisters has a trap up there for cathing animals. As you will see, I got him. He loves Peanut butter. He must be a Ross

Another stop on my break was Pleasant Grove. Quite possibly the nexus of the universe. While we were there I had some friends of mine over for a BBQ. Good Times.

While we were in San Dieago we went to old town. We ate some great mexican food and we found the old dental shop.

We discovered a great chain burger place in Oceanside. It is called Ruby's. It has some really good french fries and the shakes are fantastic. Jack was learning how to drink out of a straw while we were there. We went through at least 15 straws before we were done. He kept throwing them on the floor.

In all the years I have lived in Utah I had never been to park city other then to ski. My dad and Valerie took us for a walk around their center street. It was a lot of fun. We looked at some shops and we ate at a pizza place. Valerie got mad a my dad and me because we got cheese fries with our pizza. I cant understand why, fries go with just about everything.

Why Do Babies Have To Grow Up?

I'm sitting here crying because I miss my newborn babe. Jack is growing up way too fast, and while it is fun to watch him grow and learn, it breaks my heart that he will never be small again. He started eating solids about a week ago and got his first tooth last week. David doesn't understand why I'm so sad because he is just having fun with Jack's growing up. I guess only a mother has the kind of bond with her child that causes this kind of pain. Can any of you other moms sympathize? I'm feeling totally sad. I love my little boy undescribably, but my heart aches terribly for the tiny baby that will never be again. Why do these tears keep coming?

Fourt of July Weekend

I realize that most people have put up their 4rth of July post. Well to be honest, I'm in school and I am busy. You are lucky to be getting a post at all. For the fourth of July (one of my favorite holidays) we went to Maggi's family cabin with all of her family. Some days it was a mad house but we all had a good time. For the Fourth we tie died t-shirts in red white and blue. Maggi did our design and I dipped it in the ink. I had the much harder job, which often seems the case.

Jack's Miracle Cousins

Our family has been blessed with two new miracle babies this month. David's brother, Steven, and his wife, Kim, adopted Sawyer Kate on May 3rd. We got a call that morning from Steven saying that he and Kim were on the way to Vegas because their baby was being born. They got to be there for the labor and welcome their beautiful baby girl into the world only one week after they turned in their adoption papers. Sawyer was in the NICU for three days at Summerlin hopital. Little did we know then that we would later have a nephew staying in the same exact room. My sister, Emily, went to the doctor on Wednessday for a ultrasound at 37 weeks. The tech saw an abnormatlity in the baby's heart and the doctor sent her to Summerlin Hospital for an emergency C-Section. Luke was born that night. He was in critical condition and will probably be in the NICU for a couple more weeks but prognosis is great and we look foward to bringing him home. The fact that the tech was able to see the problem and that the problem was found literally within hours from when it would have been fatal is truly a miracle and blessing from Heavenly Father. All the nurses and doctors we have talked to have told us how angels are watching over Emily because in all their years of health care they have never seen this problem caught. Always the babies were born dead. We truly feel the hand of the Lord in our lives and thank him for our two miracle babies. Aren't they so cute?

Watch out...David is now practicing dentistry in the school clinic! I'm so proud of my budding dentist. My parents and I celebrated David's hard work and success in dental school at his white coat ceremony on Febuary 23rd. It was so fun to see him make this big step toward his goals.

Jack Lawrence Ross was born on Janurary 27 2009 at 1.43 pm. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He weighs 7 lbs 11 oz and is 20 inches long. Maggi did an amazing job. She started labor on Sunday night and delivered on Tuesday afternoon. She did the whole thing with no pain meds. She is my hero. I would have been shouting epidural as soon as we pulled up to the hospital. We had a great team that helped us a lot ( by us I mean Maggi, I didn't do any of the work). Here's a pic of my big beautiful belly :) Thanks to everyone who kept asking for this. I am so disappointed in myself that I took my first belly pics at 24 weeks. I was planning to take a belly picture every 4 weeks starting at 8 weeks. Well, better now than never. By the way, baby Ross has a name: Jack Lawrence Ross after my dad, John Lawrence Earl!

Its a Boy!!!

Well we were pretty suprised to find out that Baby Ross is a boy! Our ultrasound was last Thursday and it was so much fun! The little guy was folded in half the whole time with his feet up by his head which made it difficult to discover the sex. He did put on a great show for us though. The highlight of the ultrasound was when the tech showed us a shot viewing the bottom of the baby's feet and his little fingers were reaching over and playing with his toes!!! So Cute! We didn't find out that our child to be is a boy until the very end of the 30 min. ultrasound and to be honest we were both pretty bummed out since we had been day dreaming of a girl. We went shopping afterwards to try and cheer ourselves up and bought some darn cute baby boy clothes. Now that we are used to the idea that the baby swimming in my tummy is a boy we are super excited!!! We are starting to wonder why we wanted a girl so badly. I personally feel blessed to have a baby boy coming to our family because I know what a great tragedy it would be for us not to have a boy whom David can raise to be as incredible a man as he is. We also like the idea of having a boy as the oldest child. So here we go with the craziness and wildness. We are already learning that little boys are so much fun!!!

I went to see the doctor yesterday for my regular OB check up and was super excited because I knew at this appointment I was to schedule my ultrasound appointment. I was hoping that a miracle would happen and that they would have an opening yesterday or today because after this week David and my schedules will be impossible to coordinate. Now that David is in school he is in class during business hours except on Thursdays when he gets out of class early, which happens to be the one day of the week that I always work late. As luck would have it there were no available appointments this week so now we have to wait two more weeks for our appointment to see our baby on Sept. 11th. I'm so so sad :( I want to see my baby gosh darn-it!!! So for those of you who have been asking when do you find out what you are having, now you know...two more long long weeks.

Danny Gans

Last night we went to see Danny Gans. David's mom is in town visiting and we got comp tickets for the show so after work we hurried to eat dinner and rushed down the the Mirage. The show was really fun but David and I wished we were a little older so that we could get more of the jokes. He impersonates famous singers and sometimes he changes the words of the song into a joke about the person he is impersonating. Well, David and I didn't recognize a lot of the people, but David's mom sure was laughing hard. But we still had a blast. I would say David and I were familiar with about 80% of the singers he impersonates. His talent is absolutely incredible. He can sound like Frank Sinatra, James Taylor, Bruce Springstein, Eric Clapton, Nat King Cole, Five For Fighting, Creed, John Mayer...plus probably 100 other singers. If you couldn't see the man you would have no idea you weren't in the room with one of these legends. Plus, you can't beat free tickets!!!

Baby Ross On The Way!!!

We are extremely excited to announce that we are expecting our first little baby! The baby is due to arrive January 28th which makes me about ten weeks along in the pregnancy. I'm not sure how so many people keep this stuff a secret until 12 weeks. Last night David had to take me shopping for maternity clothes because my belly is just too big even for my fat pants. Not only is my belly too big to keep things a secret, but we are just too darn excited!!! We had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago which was one of the most amazing and emotional experiences of my life. I cried and David smiled as we watched and heard our little bean's heart beat so strong. Aside from the nausea and soreness I am absolutely loving being pregnant. We are so glad to have the support of friends and family and look foward to this new chapter in our lives!!! Ultrasound photos will be forth coming!

Memorial Day in Solana Beach

Well, we had another incredible trip to the beach! David's parents Bob and Valerie joined us at the beach condo. They had never been to the San Diego Zoo before so Saturday morning after our daily walk on the beach we took them there.

After we tired out Bob and Valerie at the zoo we headed over to Balboa Park for a relaxing and delicious picnic. It was absolutely georgeous.

After our picnic we just couldn't help ourseleves...we went to see Indiana Jones. It was awesome. The next day was Sunday and we spent the day walking on the beach, napping, reading, and watching the sunset. It was bliss.

Monday came all too soon and it was time to go home to Las Vegas, but not without a little adventure. We took one last walk on the beach...Tilli's last hoorah...and then hopped in the car and headed up the Pacific Coast Highway. We wound up at the Pier in Oceanside where we had lunch while looking out at the picture perfect sailboats sailing on the spactacular ocean facade.

HOBY

Last weekend I went up to Aspen Grove in UT county to help out with a youth leadership conference that my dad helps to organize each year. It is called HOBY. It was a lot of fun. I was a counselor for a group of high school sophmores. For three days we listened to panels and participated in leadership activitis. They had a dance but since Maggi didn't come I didn't get jiggy with it. On the way up to Aspen Grove my car broke down. Luckily it died just outside of St. George. My older brother Steve is a mechanic and has his own shop there and he was kind enough to tow me in and fix it. Talk about good luck.

p.s. David's hair is orange because their group was "orange" not because he is trying to start a new trend.

Bekah's Baby Shower!!!

We had a baby shower for my best friend Bekah and her baby Russell at my mom's house a few weeks ago, but in the hussell of getting everything together I forgot my camera and didn't get any pics. Elaine, a friend who was smart enough to bring her camera, emailed me this picture of my bestest best friends and me. Thanks a million Elaine! Laurie and Malia, Lacee's mom and sister, had to stand in for Lacee who couldn't make it because she is a big shot Volleyball coach in Utah. We sure do miss her though and really really wish she was there. I wish I had more pictures because we set up some tables outside in my mom's geogeous backyard and the weather was sublime that day. It turned out really really nice and thank you to everyone who came and made Bekah and Russell's day super special and full of love!

Clark County Fair & Rodeo

Some of you may not know this, but David and I love Rodeo! Last year our good friends the Sheltons introduced us to the Clark County Fair & Rodeo in Logandale and we enjoyed it so much that we have made it a yearly tradition for our little family while we are in Las Vegas. This year was no disappointment, though the rodeo was a little better last year. We enjoyed fair food, fair shows, fair animals, cowboys, cowgirls, and darn good rodeo. The weather was beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures of David and me at the Rodeo and our fellow fair going friends Heidi, Dan, Nicole, and Brian.

I am now the proud wife of an officer and a gentleman. Last weekend David received his commision in the army. He is a Lieutenant. After he finishes dental school he will become a Captain. David's parents came down for the ceremony and his dad actually swore David in as he is retired Major in the army. My parents were also there supporting their boy and not suprisingly my mom cried while David was reciting his oath. We are all very pleased with David's decision and it was especially fun to see how proud both of our sets of parents are of him. They were all smiles and praise. We are excited to be a part of the army and are very greatful for the approximately $300,000 scholorship they are giving us. David expects everyone to address him as Lieutenant from now on...j/k.

We Love the San Diego Zoo!!!

A couple weeks ago my sister called and asked us to meet her and her family down in San Diego for a quick weekend getaway. We are always up for Southern California and for vacations so we said yes. We spent a beautiful San Diego morning on the beach with the dogs and then headed over to our favorite Zoo in the world where we have spent many enjoyable days. We get the anual passes so we never have to worry about seeing everything...rather we can just enjoy the beauty and the weather and if we are lucky the comedy shows some of the animals put on. This trip the Sun Bears put on the best show. There were two young bears rough housing together. One had this potatoe sack that it would put over its head and it covered about 2 thirds of its body and then it would do a zombie type walk and run into the other bear. It was so hilarious! We had a blast with Jenny's cute family and my dad.

We have a new little girl in our family for a while. Her name is Ella and she is four months old. David and I are babysitting her for a couple of months for my friend who is very sick right now. Tilli enjoys having a playmate but cannot match the puppy's energy level which is sometimes taxing for her. They play play play and then crash...usually on top of each other. A Little More About Christmas

David and I laughed at ourselves when we realized that the only pictures we took at Christmas were of a hike in the snow with Tilli (Christmas day), a picture of Britt and her new baby taken a few minutes after the birth, and a picure of David and his friends at their annual party. Sorry we don't have any pictures of Christmas trees, presents, dinner, family, or any of the other things normally associated with Christmas. We did enjoy all those festivities...just a little too much to remember the camera. P.S. sorry that I am just now posting pictures of Christmas. Life is busy!

30. Where did you get engaged? In Del Mar on the beach at about 11:00 at night. The moon was so bright that it lit up the waves and made my geogeous diamond sparkle. It was seriously fairy tale amazing. I especially love watching David get nervous even though he was 100% sure I would say yes...he never gets nervous. So Cute!

31. Where were you married? In the St. George Temple

32. Where was the honeymoon? We spent a week at Mammoth Creek in my sisters lodge of a cabin and a week at my parents beach condo in Del Mar, CA.

33. If you could have changed anything about it what would it have been? It rained too much when we were at the cabin and ruined our plans for horse back riding and picnicing. That was a total bummer.

ITALY!!!

David gave me a trip to Italy for Christmas!!! We are going in March and are sooooo sooooo excited!!!

When I opened my present Christmas morning to find an Italian-English dictionary and pictures of Italy I started to cry out of sheer joy and gratitude for such a thoughtful husband. He literally treats me better than a princess and I can't wait to go with him on our romantic get away in less than two months :)

David has been accepted to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine!!! I am so proud of David! He is such a hard working man and very intelligent. He has secured one of 70 spots out of about 4,000 applicants. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thanks to everyone who has been supporting and praying for us through this application process!!! We are soooo appreciative.

The Earl Thanksgiving Spactacular

This year was the Earl Thanksgiving so we stayed in Vegas and feasted. We had lots of festivities over the week including games at the park, birthday parties, a family seminar, BYU and UNLV sports, hiking, sitting around and chatting, and of course...eating. The nieces and nephews were more rambunctious than ever but we enjoyed each others company. We ate buffet style (the only way to do it with a family of our size) and enjoyed the nice outdoor weather while we stuffed our tummies. We are so grateful for the many many blessings in our lives...including mom and dad's georgous home and yard where we have enjoyed so much family together time. David's Southern Birthday Dinner

Today was David's Birthday dinner to celebrate his 27th birthday!!! Mom, Dad, Emily's family, Molly's family, and Uncle Randy all came to help celebrate our wonderful David. He has been such a blessing to our whole family and my parents and sisters have never been more pleased with any thing I have done than they are with my marrying David. We were are reminded of his Southern origin as he chose to have fried chicken, fried potatoes, onion rings, and buiscuts for his birthday feast. It was yummy. We also were able to enjoy the georgous October Vegas weather along with the food as we ate outside in mom and dad's beautiful yard.

On Saturday we went to the annual "Howl-And-Wine" dog halloween party at The District. Tilly was dessed up as a Rebel Girl (dancer/cheerleader) and her four best friends were a spider, a sheriff, a police man, and a construction worker. There were hundreds of dogs dressed up at the party. My favorite was a little dog dressed as a lobster. But Tilli's costume was a hit too...we recieved many compliments on its inventiveness...but really I think everyone just thought she was cute because of the way she was walking with her dance pants on...we were totally cracking up all night. She is a good sport - you will notice that her ears are down in the pictures which is not a common gesture for our usually spunky Tilli.

Mark and Bekah Came to Visit

This weekend Bekah and Mark came to visit for Britt's baby shower. We had a double date (something that we used to do all the time but haven't in a long time) and we carved pumpkins. We had so much fun. David and I decided to do a polkadot pumpkin and we carved it with a drill. I highly recommend this pumpkin carving technique as it was the funnest I have ever had carving a pumpkin!

And just having a blast starting our new family and being together!!! Also this year David ran an Olympic distance traithalon and a sprit distance, Maggi got a year of graduate school under her belt, and David was accepted to PA school and is hoping to be accepted to dental school as well!

Our Trip to San Fransisco!!!

In September we went for our very first trip to San Fran for a Dental course with Maggi's dad's dental staff. In one day we went to the Mir Woods, China Town, and the Warf (I know we didn't spell these right). It was seriously one of the funnest days of our lives...we all had a blast.
