Why Do Babies Have To Grow Up?

I'm sitting here crying because I miss my newborn babe. Jack is growing up way too fast, and while it is fun to watch him grow and learn, it breaks my heart that he will never be small again. He started eating solids about a week ago and got his first tooth last week. David doesn't understand why I'm so sad because he is just having fun with Jack's growing up. I guess only a mother has the kind of bond with her child that causes this kind of pain. Can any of you other moms sympathize? I'm feeling totally sad. I love my little boy undescribably, but my heart aches terribly for the tiny baby that will never be again. Why do these tears keep coming?

THE BOY I LOVE UNDESCRIBABLY...

Jack's first taste of food. This was one of the funniest moments of my life. Wish I was up to posting the video. Maybe another day.
The day jack got his first tooth!

I completely understand!! Maybe it's because our babies are just a day apart, lol. I sympathize not just because they are getting bigger, but the twins seemed to be easier when they were little. It is a battle everyday to just brush my teeth because they are needing so much attention! Well, I should say Jackson is, lol. Putting away the too small baby clothes is really sad though because I know they are growing and ever changing. So, yes, I know what you mean!!

You a such a cute Mom...and you aren't alone I felt the same way. The next thing you know they will be FOUR and you wonder how the time ever flew by so fast!?
So sad.
But then you will enjoy the time you have with them as they get older and not take much time to think about how sad it is and love them even more for their adorable personalities growing each day!

cute, cute, cute post. i still get sad when em does stuff. like the new sentences thing - "mommy's shoes, walk" from this morning. so cute, but she'll never be small again. the only thing keeping me from tears about em is knowing i have another tiny one baking. i guess you just need another one! hehehe! :)

p.s. that is the funniest solids face i've ever seen. jack is hilarious.

I'm sad that I missed so much of Jack as a baby. First tooth! Is he really that old? I think I would find that hard as mom as well. Someday, when I have a baby, you can help me get thru days like this.

I remember Stephanie Waite telling me that there is something about every age that you will love and something that will drive you nuts. Keep looking forward to the wonderful parts of each stage of development. You have one HANDSOME little guy!

It's bitter sweet it really is. One second you are so excited that they are growing and interacting with you, and then you think to yourself...I can't really remember what their newborn cry sounds like. And you wish that you had taken 5 billion pictures of them (although you have already taken way too many in the first place.) It's no lie that you have to cherish every single second with them, because they are moments that you can't get back.

P.S. post more often because I love to see pictures of your sweet babe.

He is so cute. I love the picture of him eating. I can totally relate to feeling sad about watching them grow up. Just wait until you know it is your last baby. It is even harder to think you will never get to have another little one.
